DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
 

 

 

 

The Department of Environmental Management , Faculty of Environment was established under the Decision No. 815/QD-NNH dated June 24, 2008 by the president ofVietnam National University of Agriculture.At the beginning, the department had only 5 lecturers. The Dept. of Environmental Management recently has 8 lecturers withDr.Dinh Thi Hai Van, the head of department. The Department had 03 former heads: Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Thi Lam Tra (2008-2010), Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo The An (2010-2012), and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam (2012-2016). The main tasks are teaching, scientific research and technology transfer in the field of Environmental Management



 

 

 Staff Environmental Management

The Department of Environmental Management includes 8 lecturers, including: 1 Associate Professor; 4 Doctors; 3 Masters. All the department members are trained and obtain degrees in the field of environmental management from leading universities in the world which meet the teaching and research tasks assigned by the Faculty and University



 

 
 

Syllabus Environmental Management

Currently, the Department of Environmental Management has 23 courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs. the Department teaches 13 courses which have been included in the several undergradate programs: Environmental Science; Environmental technology; Agronomy; Engineering; Economics; Accounting and business management; Plant preservation, Biotechnology, Animal science, Veterinary, etc. In addition, the Department teaches 10 graduate courses for Environmental Science program.

 

 



 

 

Textbook Environmental Management

Compiling and publishing textbooks and lectures for teaching is the key task of the Department. Currently, all courses have electronic lectures for the teaching. In addition, the department has successfully compiled and published 02 textbooks and 06 paper lectures. In the coming time, the curriculum development continues to be promoted and completed.



 

 

 

Publications Environmental Management

Scientific publication is a mandatory task of lecturers to promote scientific research and to connect with worldwide scientists. In the 2010-2020 period, the Department of Environmental Management has published 86 scientific articles in prestigious domestic and international journals. Of which, there are 37 articles published in international journals (ISI / Scopus) and 49 articles publised in specialized domestic journals



 

 

 

Demonstration Sites Environmental Managenment

The Department of Environmental Management also focuses on teaching and training students with practical skills. Demonstration models of waste management and resource management in laboratory and real world situation have been designed and built for students to conduct scientific research, practice and internships.



 

 

 

Projects Environmental Managenment

Scientific research is the vitality of the university and the vital task of lecturers. Lecturers’ qualifications and competencies have been demonstrated through scientific research and applications in solving practical environmental problems. In the period of 2010-2020, the Department of Environmental Management has cooperated with domestic and foreign partners to conduct 15 research projects that contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development of the country.



 

 

Overall objective

The strategic objective of the Department of Environmental Management is to become the leading department in the environmental industry in environmental training, science and technology.

Specific objectives

-Research and technology transfer fields: Focusing on managing and evaluating the current situation of agricultural and rural environment, protecting biodiversity and coping with climate change; applying GIS and remote sensing technology in environment and resource management. The Department focuses on technology transfer through training courses tools in environmental management, GIS, biodiversity conservation, climate change responses and natural disaster mitigation.

-Domestic and international cooperation: Promote cooperation with DONRE, NGOs and International organizations. The Department also develops cooperation in technology activities and transfer with the Center for Agricultural Ecology, the center for natural resources and environment technology, the center for agricultural development. The Department also collaborates with the Institute of Environmental Strategy (IGES), Nagoya University of Japan, Gent University, and Kingdom of Belgium, etc
