1. History:

The Department of Microbiology was formerly Microbiological team, a part of the Department of Plant Physiology, Faculty of Horticulture, University of Agriculture No1 (established on 12/10/1956). After some times of division, combined and rename, the Department was detached from the Department of Agro-chemistry and Microbiology, Faculty of Natural Resources & Environment according to the decision No. 1352/QD-NN1 in 2007, dated 04/10/2007 of  the President of Hanoi University of Agriculture No1, now belongs to Faculty of Environment.

    2. Mission:

Training undergraduate and graduate students in fields of Environment, Soil Science,  Soil - Agrochemistry, Water Resources, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and sectors of Biological Sciences and Agricultural Engineering.

Research and transfer science and technology in the field of Natural Resources & Environment, Agriculture & Rural Development.
